Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, HRIS management, and payroll.
HR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Oversee human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding.
· Sourcing candidates, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and managing new hire orientations.
· Maintain and enter employee records in Dayforce.
· Ensure compliance with labour laws.
· Maintain HR policies.
· Support managers and employees handle workplace issues.
· Lead health and safety, maintain WSIB claims and return to work program.
PAYROLL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Verify and process payroll for hourly staff (including adjustments, vacation payouts, increases, terminations, LOA, garnishments, etc.) in accordance with policy and processes.
· Resolve payroll issues and correct errors as necessary.
· Prepare, reconcile and file required government reports in accordance with compliance guidelines (payroll deductions, T4’s, etc.)
· Coordinate benefit administration including enrolling and terminating employees, reconciling benefits, preparing benefits packages, and responding to employee queries.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Post-secondary education required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
· Must have advanced knowledge of Dayforce/HRM-Ceridian payroll system and reporting tools.
· 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Payroll Administrator and benefits administration, including knowledge of all aspects of compensation, benefits and tax calculations.
· Canadian Payroll Association Payroll I and Payroll II courses would be an asset.
· Strong knowledge of employment standards and labor laws.
· Ability to manage position with the utmost of confidentiality.
This position is in office from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
