Working in partnership with police services and insurance providers, we help motorists navigate the aftermath of property-damage collisions while enabling law enforcement to focus on community safety.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Collision Reporting Centre Manager (12 Month Contract) to lead the operations of our Sault Ste Marie Collision Reporting Centre.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Collision Reporting Centre while leading a team of approximately five employees.
This is not a desk-only management role. The successful candidate will actively support staff, assist customers, help manage daily workflow, and ensure the Centre consistently delivers professional, accurate, and efficient service.
You will work closely with police partners, insurance stakeholders, and internal leadership to maintain operational excellence and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee daily Collision Reporting Centre operations
- Ensure compliance with reporting procedures, service standards, and data accuracy requirements
- Monitor workflow and resolve operational issues
- Maintain a high level of customer service and operational efficiency
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately five employees
- Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture
- Provide hands-on support during busy periods and staffing shortages
Customer Service & Collision Reporting
- Assist motorists reporting collisions and guide them through the reporting process
- Respond to in-person and telephone inquiries
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively
- Verify driver's licences, vehicle ownership, and insurance documentation
- Determine reporting eligibility and compliance requirements
- Interview drivers and collect accurate collision information
- Complete electronic collision reports for police services and insurance partners
- Photograph vehicle damage in various weather conditions
- Maintain organized and accurate digital records
Stakeholder Relations
- Work closely with police personnel assigned to the Collision Reporting Centre
- Liaise with police leadership, including Traffic Sergeants and other stakeholders
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with police and insurance partners
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in a customer-facing or operational environment
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Strong customer service leadership experience, including managing front-line staff and resolving escalated customer concerns
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and reporting systems
- Valid driver's licence
- Comfortable working outdoors when required to photograph damaged vehicles
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a police background clearance, including fingerprinting
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities
- Flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as operational requirements dictate
