About Bloom Academy
Bloom Academy is a growing online learning community offering engaging tutoring and enrichment classes for kids and teens. We partner with passionate, specialized instructors who help students build confidence, sharpen creative and technical skills, and develop genuine curiosity in a warm, supportive environment.
Our teachers are the heart of what we do — and we're looking for the next great one to join us.
The Opportunity
We're hiring an engaging Dungeon Master to run live online Dungeons & Dragons campaigns for kids and teens. This role is about more than rolling dice — a great DM at Bloom builds immersive stories, keeps the table running smoothly, and helps young players grow in confidence, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving along the way.
We're especially interested in instructors who bring an academic or subject-area background to the table. Many of our best educators wear more than one hat — a DM who can also teach science, coding, writing, or another subject is a great fit for the kind of long-term, multi-role instructors we love to grow with.
What You'll Do
- Run live, interactive online D&D sessions and ongoing campaigns for kids and teens
- Act as Dungeon Master for small groups, managing story, pacing, and table dynamics
- Teach game mechanics and rules in an approachable, age-appropriate way
- Craft engaging narratives, encounters, and characters that keep players invested
- Foster collaboration, creative problem-solving, and social skills at the table
- Keep every player included, engaged, and having fun
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging virtual classroom
- Adapt sessions to each group's age, experience level, and interests
- Provide a safe, welcoming space where students can take creative risks
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as a Dungeon Master / Game Master (D&D 5e or similar systems)
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring children and/or teens
- A subject-area or academic specialization is a strong plus — for example science (physics, chemistry, biology), coding, social media marketing, writing, or another teachable field
- Confident and engaging on camera
- Clear, warm communicator who can manage a group of young players
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- A genuine ability to make every student feel included and excited to play
- A Bachelor's degree is required
- Experience creating campaigns, lesson plans, or project-based content is a plus
Why Teach With Bloom
- Flexible scheduling
- 100% remote
- Opportunity to build long-term relationships with students and families
- Potential to teach across multiple subjects if you have additional specializations
- Be part of a mission-driven team that genuinely cares about student growth

Application question(s):
- Do you have experience teaching or mentoring children or teens? Please describe.
- Tell us about your experience as a Dungeon Master / Game Master — which systems you run (e.g., D&D 5e), the age groups you've played with, and the kind of campaigns or one-shots you enjoy running.
- What is your degree in, and do you have any other subject areas you're qualified or interested in teaching (e.g., sciences, coding, writing, marketing)? We'd love to know what else you bring, even if it's not the main focus of this role.
- Are you comfortable running small-group sessions of kids and/or teens online?
- Please give us your specific weekly availability — actual days and time blocks. For example: "Mondays and Wednesdays 3–7pm, Saturdays 9am–1pm." Please don't answer "open" or "flexible" — even if your schedule is wide open, list the specific windows you could realistically commit to each week. Will this availability stay consistent through the end of 2026?
- If you have a specific hourly rate expectation for this role, please share it here.
- Please include a link to your LinkedIn profile, personal website, portfolio, or other relevant professional page.
- Please include a short intro video (a link is fine — YouTube, Loom, Google Drive, etc.) answering the following: What is your teaching and DM background, what experience do you have with young learners, and why would you be a strong fit for this role?
- If there is anything else you would like to share that helps demonstrate your experience or suitability for this role, please provide details here.
