CAD Dental Designer – Dentures, Bridges & Full-Arch Prosthetics
Implant Genius | Vancouver, BC
Full-Time | On-Site
About Implant Genius
Implant Genius is an innovative digital dentistry company specializing in advanced prosthetic design and intelligent digital workflows. We work closely with dentists, prosthodontists, dental laboratories, and clinical teams across North America to create accurate, functional, and patient-specific dental prostheses.
Our work includes complete dentures, implant-supported bridges, full-arch All-on-X prostheses, and customized restorative designs. We combine advanced CAD technology, clinical collaboration, and detailed quality-control processes to deliver predictable and highly aesthetic outcomes for patients.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced CAD Dental Designer with a minimum of three years of hands-on dental CAD experience.
The successful candidate will primarily design:
- Complete and implant-supported dentures
- Dental bridges and implant-supported bridges
- Customized dental prostheses
- Full-arch All-on-X restorations
- Teeth setups and patient-specific smile designs
- Gingival contours and prosthetic tissue architecture
This role requires more than software knowledge. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of tooth morphology, dental anatomy, occlusion, function, facial aesthetics, gingival design, and prosthetic principles.
You will work primarily in Exocad and collaborate closely with clinicians, prosthodontists, dental technicians, and the Implant Genius digital design team. Every design must be clinically appropriate, aesthetically balanced, manufacturable, and ready for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complete dentures, implant-supported dentures, bridges, customized prostheses, and full-arch All-on-X restorations.
- Create accurate digital tooth setups based on patient anatomy, facial references, clinical requirements, and approved smile designs.
- Select and modify teeth based on tooth morphology, arch form, age, gender, facial proportions, and patient-specific aesthetic requirements.
- Design natural-looking gingival contours, emergence profiles, papillae, and prosthetic tissue architecture.
- Review intraoral scans, impressions, facial scans, bite records, photographs, CBCT information, and clinician instructions.
- Establish appropriate tooth position, midline, occlusal plane, incisal plane, vertical dimension, overbite, and overjet.
- Evaluate centric contacts, excursive movements, articulation, and overall functional occlusion.
- Design implant-supported bridges and full-arch prostheses with appropriate contours, material thickness, screw-access positioning, and hygienic considerations.
- Interpret implant positions, scan bodies, multi-unit abutments, restorative space, and prosthetic component requirements.
- Identify incomplete scans, inaccurate bite records, insufficient restorative space, implant-position concerns, or other potential case issues before production.
- Prepare designs for milling, printing, or other manufacturing processes while following material and production requirements.
- Review designs for accuracy, function, aesthetics, strength, and manufacturability before final approval.
- Make timely design modifications based on clinician, prosthodontist, or quality-control feedback.
- Maintain clear records of design versions, requested changes, approvals, and case history.
- Communicate professionally with clinical and production teams regarding case requirements, concerns, and timelines.
- Support continuous improvements to Implant Genius digital design and production workflows.
- Follow established quality-control procedures and applicable dental prosthetic and medical-device standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of professional dental CAD design experience in a dental laboratory, digital dentistry company, or prosthetic design environment.
- Strong proficiency in Exocad, particularly for denture, bridge, prosthesis, and full-arch workflows.
- Demonstrated experience designing complete dentures, implant-supported dentures, bridges, and full-arch All-on-X prostheses.
- Strong knowledge of permanent and removable tooth morphology.
- Thorough understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, articulation, vertical dimension, phonetics, and functional tooth arrangement.
- Strong understanding of anterior and posterior tooth positioning, arch forms, smile lines, midlines, incisal display, and aesthetic proportions.
- Ability to create natural and anatomically appropriate gingival contours and emergence profiles.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting intraoral scans, facial scans, digital impressions, bite records, photographs, and clinical prescriptions.
- Understanding of implant prosthetic principles, restorative space, implant components, screw channels, and full-arch design requirements.
- Knowledge of CAD designs intended for 3D printing and milling.
- Ability to recognize and resolve potential fit, occlusion, aesthetic, and manufacturing concerns before production.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet production deadlines without compromising design quality.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using 3Shape Dental System, Dental Wings, Blender for Dental, or other dental CAD platforms.
- Experience with both digital denture and implant-supported full-arch workflows.
- Familiarity with zirconia bridges, titanium bars, PMMA prototypes, temporary prostheses, and screw-retained hybrid restorations.
- Experience designing bar-supported overdentures or fixed detachable prostheses.
- Familiarity with facially driven smile design and patient-approved digital smile workflows.
- Experience working with prosthodontists and complex restorative cases.
- Knowledge of hands-on dental laboratory fabrication and finishing processes.
- Familiarity with digital quality-management systems, Health Canada requirements, or ISO 13485 standards.
- Dental technician education, certification, or equivalent professional training.
What We Value
We are looking for someone who:
- Understands that every design is created for a real patient.
- Takes pride in anatomical accuracy and natural-looking results.
- Has a trained eye for tooth morphology, symmetry, proportion, and facial harmony.
- Understands both the clinical and manufacturing consequences of design decisions.
- Reviews their own work carefully before submitting it for approval.
- Communicates concerns early rather than allowing preventable problems to move into production.
- Is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced digital environment.
- Is interested in growing with an innovative digital dentistry company.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on experience and demonstrated design ability.
- A stable, full-time position with opportunities for professional growth.
- Exposure to advanced denture, bridge, prosthetic, and full-arch All-on-X cases.
- The opportunity to work with advanced digital dentistry and AI-assisted design workflows.
- Direct collaboration with prosthodontists, dentists, technicians, and technology specialists.
- A professional and supportive team environment where design quality and clinical outcomes matter.
- Opportunities to contribute to the improvement of next-generation digital dentistry workflows.
