Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and professional Company Driver and Delivery Assistant.
This is a practical driving and field-support position. Previous chauffeur experience is not required. We need someone who drives safely, follows instructions, arrives on time, and can be trusted with company information.
Approximately two to three days per week will involve driving the company owner and staff member to scheduled customer appointments. These appointments may be throughout the GTA or in cities such as London, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Barrie, and surrounding areas.
On the remaining days, the driver will handle company deliveries, pickups, supplier visits, and other basic field-related work.
Training and guidance will be provided.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive the company owner and staff to customer appointments and business meetings.
- Follow a prepared daily route with multiple customer stops.
- Drive safely, smoothly, and professionally.
- Manage navigation, parking, fueling, and vehicle preparation.
- Complete commercial deliveries and pickups.
- Pick up products from suppliers, warehouses, customers, electricians, and installers.
- Help load and unload lighting products, samples, boxes, and other materials.
- Obtain delivery signatures, photographs, and confirmation when required.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, fueled, and ready for use.
- Report delays, vehicle issues, accidents, tickets, or customer concerns immediately.
- Communicate with office staff by phone, text message, or WhatsApp.
- Assist with simple field tasks when instructed.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding customers, meetings, schedules, conversations, employees, pricing, and company matters.
Confidentiality and Professional Conduct
The driver may hear private business conversations and may become aware of customer meetings, employee matters, company plans, pricing, financial information, and personal schedules.
The successful applicant must be highly discreet and must not discuss:
- Where the company owner or staff travelled.
- Who they met.
- What was discussed.
- Customer or supplier information.
- Internal employee matters.
- Conversations heard inside the vehicle.
- Company pricing, plans, or business activities.
A separate confidentiality agreement will be required.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
- Good driving record.
- Safe and confident driver.
- Comfortable driving throughout the GTA and on Ontario highways.
- Comfortable driving a midsize or large SUV.
- Able to drive for extended periods.
- Punctual, dependable, and responsible.
- Professional and respectful around customers and staff.
- Able to use Google Maps and a smartphone.
- Able to follow a route and daily schedule.
- Able to lift and move boxes, lighting products, and samples.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Willing to provide a driver’s abstract and references.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in any of the following is helpful but not required:
- Delivery driving.
- Courier work.
- Company driving.
- Warehouse or shipping work.
- Driving an employer or business owner.
- Customer service.
- Commercial products, lighting, construction, electrical, or solar industries.
Typical Weekly Schedule
The position will generally include:
- Two to three days driving the company owner and staff to customer appointments.
- Two to three days completing deliveries, pickups, and field-support work.
- Occasional early starts.
- Occasional later returns when travelling outside the GTA.
- Travel time between cities and customer locations.
What We Are Looking For
We are not looking for a formal luxury chauffeur.
We are looking for someone practical, trustworthy, calm, and dependable who:
- Drives carefully.
- Does not use their phone while driving.
- Does not drive aggressively.
- Can follow instructions.
- Keeps the vehicle clean.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality.
- Is willing to help with deliveries and basic company work.
- Can grow into the role with training.
Compensation
- $20–$22 per hour, depending on experience and driving record.
- Full-time hours.
- Company vehicle provided for work duties.
- Initial one-month trial with the possibility of continuing permanently if the arrangement works well.
