The employee, under the direction of the client/employer, provides personal care services and assists with the activities of daily living.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide personal care that is directed by the client/employer. Duties include but are not limited to; skin care, hair care, bathing, toileting, dressing, positioning and movement, lifting/transferring, exercise, meal prep, house cleaning
- Accompany client to appointments, shopping, and other errands
- Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of the client are met to the greatest possible extent
- Maintains confidentiality of client information
QUALIFICATIONS
- This is a physically demanding position and requires the ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely; able to freely lift 45 kilograms; able to assist client with sitting and rolling in bed; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Available to regularly work some nights & weekends
- Valid Criminal Record Check upon request
- Available to pick up extra shifts on occasion & understands that you will be required to work stat holidays if they should fall on a scheduled shift
- Must be eager to learn new things & comfortable taking directions on an ongoing basis
- A valid drivers license & vehicle
- Must be extremely dependable due to the nature of the position
- Demonstrates a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness;
- Must love dogs (or at least be okay with them)
** Experience & education in this field are considered assets but are not mandatory as paid training is provided.**
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
