Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office software, and the ability to handle administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in dental or medical office settings is highly valued, along with proficiency in electronic medical records and multi-line phone systems. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments
- Manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accordingly
- Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay messages
- Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing accurately
- Maintain organized patient records within electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Prepare patient charts and ensure all necessary documentation is complete before procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Ensure the front desk area remains tidy and welcoming
Experience
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting preferred
- Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix and electronic health record systems like Epic is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Proven experience managing multi-line phone systems and handling administrative duties efficiently
- Office experience demonstrating excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with multitasking capabilities is advantageous
Pay: $19.18-$31.59 per hour
