Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Coordinator to oversee our logistics and transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the flow of freight, managing dispatch activities, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and a solid understanding of supply chain processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily dispatch operations to ensure efficient routing and scheduling of shipments.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and optimize delivery routes.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
- Maintain accurate data entry for all dispatch-related documentation, including freight bills and shipping manifests.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Provide exceptional customer service through effective phone etiquette and clear communication with clients and team members.
- Supervise a team of dispatchers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Handle multi-line phone systems to manage incoming calls related to dispatch inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during the shipping process.
Experience
- Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics management role, preferably within the transportation industry.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and freight operations is essential.
- Proficient in using software for logistics management.
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry tasks.
- Excellent analytical skills to assess operational performance and implement improvements.
