Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and finish wood components according to project specifications
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions
- Select appropriate materials and ensure proper handling to minimize waste
- Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and improve processes
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal operation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, or plans
- Familiarity with woodworking machinery and hand tools
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to woodworking environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials when necessary
- Prior experience working with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or caring for individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required
