CHEF POSITION
At LOCAL 1794, we are a busy gastropub that takes pride in delivering creative, tasteful cuisine that keeps our guests coming back. Our team is committed to creating memorable dining experiences, ensuring every guest leaves happy after every visit.
We are currently seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Chef who is passionate about culinary arts and capable of leading a high-performing kitchen team.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who stays current with culinary trends and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role involves overseeing kitchen operations, mentoring staff, managing inventory and labor costs, and collaborating with the Sous Chef to develop exciting new menu items and weekly features.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage kitchen operations in a high-volume environment
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff
Partner with the Sous Chef to create new menu items and weekly specials
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
Manage food and labor costs effectively
Maintain kitchen schedules and delegate tasks efficiently
Oversee inventory management and vendor relationships
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Create a positive and productive team culture
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Culinary Arts required (Bachelor’s preferred)
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant
Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of food quality, preparation, and sanitation standards
Proven ability to build and retain strong teams
