Skidsteer / Loader Operator
Overview
Looking for a full-time, seasonal, experienced . Must have good work ethic, teamwork skills, and safety focused. Additional equipment experience is an asset.
This position requires a dedicated individual who is skilled in operating Skidsteer / Loader and/or Excavator and is committed to ensuring the safety of the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with various tools and equipment used paving and civil construction.
Duties
- Operate equipment as it applies to base preparation, excavation, site preparation, grading, loading trucks, cut to fill, etc.
- Perform general labour related to project demands, and assist with job site and related demands
- Conduct a pre-operational equipment inspection checklist before operating
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure efficient and productive operations
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with company safety practices, policies, and procedures
- Ability to identify hazards while operating equipment
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors
- Follow all safety requirements and policies at all times
- Participate in jobsite and safety meetings and reporting
Requirements and skills
- Experience operating Skidsteer and/or Loader
- Experience towing large trainers required
- Safety focused; able to work safely and stay alert at all times
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Able to take instruction and work with crews to perform job site task required
- Physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must maintain a courteous and professional manner with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the public at all times
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- CSTS and WHIMIS required; additional operator tickets are preferred
- Safety and construction certifications and other related training is beneficial
- Wage based on experience and qualifications upon reference
- Must have valid driver’s license; able to transport to and from Edmonton head office
- Bonus if able to operate other heavy equipment and/or have experience in working with paving or utility installation
- Must drug and alcohol testing may be required
