Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive **Part-Time Seasonal Server to join our diverse team at Namaste Bistro. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, have a passion for teamwork, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
This role involves outstanding customer service skills, calm temperament under pressure, taking and serving food/beverage orders, handling cash, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. Prior experience in food service and familiarity with POS systems are preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals. The Server plays a vital role in delivering a memorable dining experience and supporting the overall success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and professionally.
- Going above and beyond in providing a pleasant, welcoming, and consistent dining experience to all guests.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring presentation quality
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash, process payments, and manage cashiering duties efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including tables, utensils, and workstations
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve multiple tables efficiently
- Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred; hospitality background is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in the food industry
- Ability to multitask effectively and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for cashiering and billing transactions
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light loads as required for service duties
- Food industry experience including serving, food safety, and guest services is highly desirable
