Job Summary -
The Outside Sales Representative role reports to the Director of Industrial Strategy and is responsible for driving sales within Atlantic Canada. There is no office in Atlantic Canada. You will be working from home and on the road. Critical skills include the ability to manage key relationships, prioritize sales activities and to organize and maintain all monthly sales pipeline and financial reporting. You are also responsible to assist in forecasting.
Travel / Territory
The territory is Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland). This role requires overnight travel every week. Travel is mostly one night per week or two nights per week. There is also travel to Toronto every three months for a Quarterly Business Review meeting. Travel to Newfoundland every three months for customer visits. All travel and gas expenses are covered by Hillman.
Essential Job Functions *
- Maintain current customer base in the Industrial division in Atlantic Canada. Customers are comprised of Electrical, Plumbing, Automotive Parts stores, Industrial Suppliers, etc.
- Source new accounts through prospecting and cold calling.
- Develop and grow the existing customer base. Approximately 500 customers.
- Follow-up all sales leads given by the company.
- Engage with customers to ensure purchasing is issue free.
- Expand our offerings to existing customers.
- Quote and follow-up with customers
- Resolve customer complaints i.e. invoicing, late delivery, quotations.
- Communicate orders placed by the customer.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Comply with Company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience
- University Degree
- 5 years outside sales experience. Preferred in an automotive aftermarket, industrial and OEM sales environment.
