Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of automotive parts and repair processes. This role involves assisting customers with their parts needs, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment to support our service and sales departments. Experience in dealership operations, POS systems, and retail sales is highly valued. Bilingual abilities and familiarity with automotive maintenance software are considered advantageous. The Parts Advisor plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate records and supporting sales initiatives.
Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts through effective communication and product knowledge
- Manage Technician parts requests and properly dispatch parts to the shop
- Manage inventory levels, track stock, and coordinate with suppliers for order fulfillment using CMMS or other inventory management systems
- Process sales transactions accurately utilizing POS systems and handle cash or electronic payments with professionalism
- Provide technical advice on parts compatibility and maintenance procedures to customers and technicians
- Maintain organized records of sales, orders, and customer interactions to ensure seamless service delivery
- Support marketing efforts by promoting parts specials, accessories, or related services to increase sales opportunities
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs and maintenance
- Uphold excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders via phone or online channels
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the parts department area
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience or familiarity with automotive repair is preferred
- Strong proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and order fulfillment processes
- PBS experience is extremely valued
- Excellent communication skills, including negotiation, customer service, and phone etiquette
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and stock management
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and calculating parts pricing or discounts
- Experience in retail sales, marketing, or sales management is beneficial
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism

Pay: $45,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
