We are currently hiring a Yard and Material Attendant to join our team in Bowmanville, Ontario. This role is a great fit for someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment. The Yard and Material Attendant will be responsible for organizing materials, preparing orders for field crews, assisting with deliveries, and helping keep the yard running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain the yard, material, tools, and equipment
- Prepare material orders for crews based on project requirements
- Load and unload deliveries
- Receive, check, and store incoming materials
- Track inventory and report low stock
- Ensure materials are labelled, organized, and easy to locate
- Assist crews with material pickups and returns
- Keep the yard clean, safe, and free of hazards
- Safely operate equipment such as a forklift, backhoe, and skid steer
- Complete daily equipment circle checks and report any issues
- Complete basic paperwork and inventory tracking as required
- Communicate with supervisors, project coordinators, and field crews
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- Previous yard, construction, warehouse, or material handling experience
- Able to safely operate a forklift, backhoe, and skid steer
- Equipment certifications are considered an asset
- Valid G licence required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, tools, or telecommunications materials is considered an asset
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills
- Must be safety-focused and willing to follow company procedures
