Lakeland Inn and EL Lobo Motel are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of both properties, including the Lakeland Inn restaurant, bar, banquet hall, guest rooms, public areas, and exterior grounds. The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel, motel, restaurant, bar, banquet hall, guest rooms, public areas, and exterior grounds.
- Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, doors, locks, windows, appliances, furniture, and other building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff to minimize disruptions and maintain a high standard of service.
- Complete repairs in guest rooms to ensure they are clean, functional, and ready for occupancy.
- Perform painting, drywall repairs, carpentry, flooring repairs, and general cosmetic improvements throughout both properties.
- Carry out seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal, ice control, lawn care, landscaping, and parking lot maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, and other life safety systems.
- Assist with room renovations, furniture assembly, equipment installation, and property improvement projects.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ensure maintenance areas, workshops, storage rooms, and mechanical rooms remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Coordinate with management and outside contractors on larger repair projects when required.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations outside of regular working hours when on call.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hotel, motel, commercial building, restaurant, or general facilities maintenance is preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building repairs.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and customer service skills when interacting with guests, contractors, and fellow team members.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license is considered an asset.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday day shifts and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
