Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Shunt Driver to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely moving trailers within our yard, coordinating trailer movements with warehouse and dispatch teams, and ensuring efficient freight flow. The ideal candidate has experience operating hydraulic shunt tractors and 53’ dry van trailers in a yard environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a hydraulic shunt tractor to move trailers within the yard.
- Position trailers at designated loading and unloading doors.
- Perform yard checks and maintain accurate trailer location records.
- Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to support daily operations.
- Complete pre-trip trailer inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
- Ensure proper trailer placement and organization within the yard.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and transportation regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other yard-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a hydraulic shunt tractor in a yard environment required.
- Experience operating a hydraulic shunt tractor, yard truck, or tractor-trailer equipment.
- Valid AZ/DZ driver's license is preferred.
- Available to work variable days/hours.
- Ability to perform a daily equipment inspection, complete and submit a maintenance report.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse and transportation operations preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
