Position: Field Service Technician
Industry: Waste & Recycling Equipment
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime, on-call rotation, and occasional weekends required
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain industrial balers, compactors, and recycling equipment
- Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics to troubleshoot efficiently
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment upgrades, including software updates
- Use mobile technology to manage work orders, track parts, log hours, and upload photos
- Communicate clearly with customers on-site to explain issues, solutions, and recommendations
- Follow all company and customer safety policies, including work in secure and confined spaces
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service support
What We’re Looking For
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in:
- Hydraulics (3+ years)
- Electrical systems (3+ years)
- Mechanical repair (3+ years)
- Reading schematics and blueprints (3+ years)
- Experience troubleshooting components such as sensors, solenoids, relays, and limit switches
- PLC experience (preferred)
- Welding & grinding (Stick/Arc) experience (required)
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in industrial environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with waste and recycling equipment is an asset — training will be provided.
Physical & Work Environment
This role requires physical endurance, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, balancing, working at heights, and performing tasks in confined spaces with limited lighting.
