Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to join our northern construction management team, working in a remote fly-in location. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations on-site, ensuring project quality, and maintaining safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team, coordinate tasks efficiently, and contribute to successful project completion. The Lead Hand will utilize their expertise in carpentry, construction processes, team management, and blueprint reading to drive project excellence and client satisfaction.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules
- Oversee daily work of crew members, providing guidance and support to meet project goals
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets safety and industry standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction estimates to facilitate accurate execution of tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Collaborate with managers, subcontractors, and clients to resolve issues promptly
- Monitor progress and prepare reports on project status for stakeholders
Qualifications
- Must have prior experience in carpentry/ framing
- Proven supervising experience within the construction industry
- Experience in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating
- Excellent understanding of quality control procedures and safety standards
- Skilled in supervising teams and coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead by example and foster teamwork
- Relevant certifications or training in construction management are preferred

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week

- Red Lake, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Framing carpentry: 2 years (required)
