Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the flow of goods into and out of our warehouse, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, proper packaging, and timely dispatch. Your proactive approach will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, support e-commerce order processing, and uphold safety standards across all shipping and receiving activities. Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying quantities, and recording deliveries using warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software.
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products accurately for delivery or transfer.
- Utilize warehouse distribution systems to track inventory levels, update stock records, and ensure proper storage of goods.
- Conduct order picking and packing for e-commerce orders with precision to meet customer expectations.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers to move products efficiently within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all safety procedures are followed during loading, unloading, and storage activities.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse processes, improve order fulfillment times, and support inventory accuracy.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in shipping & receiving processes.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 systems, or similar inventory software.
- Valid forklift certification; experience operating reach trucks or other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy packages, load & unload trucks, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution practices and order picking techniques.
- Experience with packaging materials and methods suitable for various product types.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory management.
