The AZ/ DZ Operator – Organics will support the liquids/ organics team to provide exceptional service to our clients. The role will be responsible for safely operating and/or have the ability to operate various equipment to assist in the collection of various liquid and solid wastes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate motorized vehicles to move material between client sites.
- Must be familiar and demonstrate the ability to operate a tanker.
• Accurately complete numerous and various documents, including pre/post trip inspections, manifests, log books, VCRs, etc., in a legible manner to meet compliance requirements.
- Ensure that all equipment and systems are operated as per GFL standards.
- Knowledge of MTO regulations.
• Drivers are required to adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Knowledge of the Nutrient Management Regulation.
• Willingness to obtain required licensing.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Requirements:
• Three (3) years of driver/operator experience is preferred.
- High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
- Must possess an AZ/DZ license (minimum class D license with air brake endorsement) and submit current abstracts, personal and CVOR (no demerits).
- Must obtain a Nutrient Management Technician online course administered through the University of Guelph.
• Must have solid written communication skills in order to complete required paperwork.
- Must have good verbal communication skills to be able to interact with internal and external customers.
• Prior experience operating heavy machinery typical within a mining environment, including farm in an agricultural environment is a definite asset. However, we are willing to train potential candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn.
