Since 2014, Det’on Cho Logistics has been the Shell Aviation Fuel agent and the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at Yellowknife Airport.
What You Will Do:
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Manager, FBO & Fuel Operations, to oversee general aviation support services such as aircraft handling, passenger services, fuel services, hangar services, ground transportation, and hospitality.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, this is a hands-on leadership position where you will take an active role in client support, service delivery, workload planning, administration, health and safety, and the training of new employees. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in aircraft handling and fuel services, along with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously. This role will also play a significant part in coordinating support for clients who come to Yellowknife for cold-weather testing and in liaising with the Canadian Armed Forces as their presence and operations at Yellowknife Airport continue to increase.
A Day In The Life:

Lead the day-to-day functions of the FBO and fuel operation and foster a teamwork-oriented, high-performance culture that is customer focused.

Create and maintain a safety-first culture and ensure safety standards are met or exceeded in the work area.

Promote quality control through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, health and safety compliance, mentoring, skill development, and training.

Oversee and coordinate FBO facility and equipment maintenance, including scheduled inspections of the fuel operation.

Take ownership of customer issues that may arise and follow problems through to resolution.

Communicate effectively with staff and departments across DCL, providing support in any way you can to ensure the highest level of service across the operation.

Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming work environment.

Act as the company liaison in matters related to the airport community and other key stakeholders.

Coordinate client support and operational planning for customers visiting Yellowknife for cold-weather testing activities.

Liaise with the Canadian Armed Forces and other airport partners to support increasing military presence and operations at Yellowknife Airport.

Maintain timely and accurate invoicing, expense approvals, and payroll approvals.

Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained based on daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
What You Bring:

Five (5) years or more of management experience, with three (3) or more years of aviation experience preferred

Must be able to pass an airport security background check and obtain a RAIC.

Ability to think analytically, solve problems, and make sound operational decisions.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, airport stakeholders, and military representatives in a courteous and professional manner.

Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities.

Extensive customer service experience and the ability to perform all job duties while providing a high level of service to both external and internal clients.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and a willingness to obtain a Class 3 rating.

Must be flexible and willing to work the occasional evening or weekend to support flight activity and operational demands.
