The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing seafood processing operations to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role provides leadership and direction to supervisors and production employees, monitors daily production activities, and promotes continuous improvement to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily production operations to achieve production schedules, quality standards, and operational goals.
- Coordinate and adjust production schedules in response to supply chain changes, equipment downtime, and customer demand.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and CFIA regulations to uphold food safety, product quality, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain product safety, freshness, and consistency.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance management to production supervisors, lead hands, and plant employees.
- Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Plan staffing requirements, manage shift coverage, and monitor overtime to support efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in food manufacturing or seafood processing.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP, and CFIA food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to manage production operations, resolve operational challenges, and maintain consistent quality and compliance.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory control
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as operational needs require.
- Adaptable to seasonal production demands and changing business priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and production reporting systems.
Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
