We are hiring a full-time, permanent CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team in Grimsby. This is a full-time, permanent role. The selected candidate must be comfortable operating and programming a 3-axis CNC mill.

Shift Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour Day Shift; Employee must be on-site by 8:00am
- ½ Unpaid lunch from 12:30pm-1:00pm
- Overtime paid after 40 hours
Wage: $30.00+/hour depending on experience
Overview:
- Report to Manufacturing Team Lead
- Responsible for Set-up, programming, and operation of a CNC 3-axis Mill
- Use of SolidWorks and hyperMILL to program
- Accurately interpret blueprints and other technical drawings
- Set parts and tools, and measure parts
- Perform first op-inspections and quality checks on machined parts
- General cleaning of workspace
- Use of other manual mills, lathes, saws, and other machinery as needed
- Ensure the use of proper PPE
- Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Other related duties as required
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience performing set-up and machining on CNC 3-axis or CNC 5-axis Mill required
- 5+ years of experience programming using SolidWorks and hyperMILL or similar CAD/CAM software required
- Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time
- Experience using measuring equipment
- Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-function team
- Team-oriented and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Completion of General Machinist 429A CoQ/CoA an asset
Work Conditions:
- Temperature-controlled environment
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to loud noises when on shop floor and prolonged standing
- CSA-approved safety Shoes Required
- Hearing protection and safety glasses provided when required
- Own vehicle or reliable transportation required; not transit accessible
