GNB Contracting is seeking an experienced Drywall Finisher & Painter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in occupied residential buildings, including condominiums and apartment buildings, and will be committed to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining professionalism around residents.
This position involves drywall repairs, taping, mudding, sanding, priming, and painting as part of restoration, refurbishment, and insurance-related projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Responsibilities
- Perform drywall repairs, patching, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including priming, caulking, and minor repairs.
- Apply paint, stains, and finishes to walls, ceilings, trim, and other surfaces.
- Complete work in occupied residential units, hallways, and common areas with minimal disruption to residents.
- Protect adjacent finishes, furniture, and flooring using appropriate coverings and containment methods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, property management staff, and fellow team members.
- Ensure all work meets GNB Contracting's quality standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Drywall Finisher and Painter.
- Proven experience working in occupied condominium and residential buildings.
- Strong knowledge of drywall finishing techniques and painting applications.
- Ability to complete high-quality repairs that blend seamlessly with existing finishes.
- Experience with restoration, renovation, and insurance-related projects is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and reliable transportation are preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
