Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish. This role requires excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of automotive systems, and the ability to upsell services effectively. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is preferred, but a strong background in customer service and automotive knowledge will also be considered. The Service Advisor plays a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction while supporting the dealership’s sales and service goals.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Listen carefully to customer descriptions of issues and accurately document service requests
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly, explaining necessary services and options
- Prepare detailed repair orders, ensuring all work is accurately recorded for technicians
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Upsell additional maintenance or repair services that benefit the customer’s vehicle health and safety
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage future business
- Maintain organized records of customer interactions, service history, and sales opportunities
- Assist in achieving dealership sales goals through effective communication and product knowledge
Requirements
- Previous experienced
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Proven sales ability, including upselling services and products effectively
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
