Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing and inventory management
- Prepare and label prescriptions accurately in accordance with medical orders
- Provide patient care support by answering questions and offering medication guidance under supervision
- Maintain detailed records of medication transactions and patient interactions
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and monitor expiration dates
- Support medication administration processes as needed, including documentation and patient education
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Experience
- Previous hospital or pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Experience in patient care environments is highly desirable
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
- Certification or training in pharmacy assistance or related fields is a plus
