Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our busy restaurant team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining food safety standards. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates enthusiasm and a strong work ethic. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Cook menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and timely service
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support the team during busy hours by efficiently managing multiple tasks
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality of all food served
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and good communication abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if needed
- Basic understanding of serving protocols and meal presentation is a plus
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is desirable
