About Us
K-Go is Canada's first technology-based family transportation service for kids ages 3 to 17. Designed by parents, our top priority is keeping kids safe while helping them participate in activities that matter. Now launching in Edmonton, we're building our founding driver team.
Sign-on bonus available for drivers with prior caregiving experience (e.g., childcare, eldercare, education, social work)
Drive with K-Go in Edmonton – Flexibility, Purpose, and Community
K-Go drivers are independent contractors, not employees. You operate your own small driving business: you choose which rides to accept, set your own availability, and can drive for other platforms. K-Go provides the bookings, the technology, and the support.
As a K-Go Driver, you can:
✅ Set your own hours-work around family, school, or another job.
✅ Choose safe, pre-booked rides (no on-demand driving, no street hails).
✅ Make a difference by helping kids and families in your community.
✅ Be part of our founding Edmonton driver team as we launch in the city.
We're Seeking Reliable Drivers for Busy School Routes!
Most rides happen during two windows, and drivers who make themselves available then earn the most:
- 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM (school drop-offs)
- 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (school pick-ups and delivery to activities/sports)
Why Join Our Driver Community?
- - Work with a supportive, safety-focused team.
- - Ideal for parents, caregivers, and those who enjoy working with kids.
- - Priority given to applicants with experience in childcare, education, healthcare, or safety roles (but not required).
Requirements
Edmonton classifies driving for K-Go as a vehicle for hire service, so requirements differ from a standard licence. We'll walk you through every step during onboarding.
✔ Valid Alberta Class 1, 2, or 4 driver's licence & reside in the Edmonton area (a standard Class 5 licence is not sufficient; upgrading to Class 4 requires a knowledge test, road test, and medical check at any Alberta registry agent, and we can point you to resources)
✔ City of Edmonton Vehicle for Hire driver's licence (we'll guide you through the application)
✔ Clean driving record (provide a driver's abstract) & Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check from Edmonton Police Service, dated within 90 days (provide at your expense)
✔ Personal auto insurance in your name (no commercial policy needed: K-Go carries the provincially required Transportation Network insurance that covers you from log-in through drop-off; you must advise your personal insurer that you drive for a vehicle-for-hire platform)
✔ Vehicle 2016 or newer, registered with an Alberta Class 1-55 (Ride-for-Hire) plate, with a current annual mechanical inspection certificate kept in the vehicle (inspection at your expense)
✔ 20+ years old, 5+ years driving experience
✔ Must pass in-person interview, the City of Edmonton's mandatory Vehicle for Hire Driver Training Program (approximately 5–8 hours, provided through K-Go), and K-Go Driver training class to be certified to drive
✔ GST registration with CRA (required by federal law for all ride-for-hire drivers regardless of income; free to register, and we'll walk you through it during onboarding)
✔ Friendly, patient, and safety-conscious
