True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a creative, collaborative, and community-minded Fan Development Specialist to join our Community Relations team.
The Fan Development Specialist is a two-year term position that will play an important role in growing the next generation of Winnipeg Jets fans through the First Flight program. Working collaboratively across the organization and with community partners, this role coordinates fan education initiatives, develops engaging content and experiences, builds meaningful community relationships, and uses data-driven insights to continually enhance the program. The successful candidate is passionate about creating welcoming, inclusive experiences that help new and casual fans feel connected to the game of hockey.
What to be excited for in this role:

Coordinate the day-to-day delivery and ongoing growth of the Winnipeg Jets First Flight program, ensuring participants have a welcoming, engaging, and memorable introduction to hockey and the fan experience.

Coordinate the planning, development, and delivery of educational resources, digital content, and fan engagement materials that help new and casual fans build confidence and connect with the game.

Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, cultural consultants, translators, content contributors, and other external partners to support inclusive and meaningful program experiences.

Collaborate with intern departments including Marketing, Ticketing, Business Intelligence, Corporate Partnerships, and Community Relations to align fan development initiatives with broader organizational goals and create a seamless participant journey.

Coordinate project timelines, content calendars, contributor deliverables, and program milestones to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Monitor participant engagement, program performance, and feedback, using data and insights to recommend enhancements that strengthen the overall fan experience and improve long-term engagement.

Prepare reports, presentations, and program updates that communicate outcomes, key learnings, and opportunities for future growth to internal stakeholders.

Ensure all program content, communications, and participant experiences reflect Winnipeg Jets brand standards while remaining accessible, culturally relevant, and welcoming to diverse audiences.

Identify opportunities to improve program processes, participant experiences, and onboarding pathways through continuous evaluation and collaboration with internal teams.

Represent the Winnipeg Jets and First Flight program at community events, fan experiences, and promotional activities, occasionally working evenings and weekends as required.
What we need from you:

Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Communications, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, community engagement, customer experience, program coordination, or a related role.

Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Experience managing campaigns across multiple channels, including paid search, social media, email, and display advertising.

Experience contributing to the development or enhancement of websites, digital content, or online customer experiences.

Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics or similar reporting tools to evaluate performance and support data-driven decision-making.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional organization and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with internal teams, community partners, and external vendors.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other digital collaboration tools.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events and program initiatives.
Assets:

Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or similar platforms.

Understanding of website user experience principles and accessibility best practices.

Experience with digital marketing concepts, including email marketing, social media, SEO, and content strategy.

Experience using data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.

Experience working in sports, entertainment, tourism, community engagement, or customer experience.
