Employment Resource Advisor
Hours: 28 hours per week
Location: Invermere WorkBC Centre
Term: June 16th, 2026 – March 31st 2027
**Possibility of extension based on contract renewal**
Office hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8 – 4. Thursday 9:30-5:30.
Accountability: Center Manager in Cranbrook
Wage: $26 per hour
Position Purpose:
As an Employment Resource Advisor, you will play a vital role in assisting job seekers on their journey to sustainable employment. You will be the face of WorkBC/KES; you are the first person clients see when they enter the building. You will be responsible for providing administrative support, conducting job searches, and connecting clients with valuable resources and services.

Key responsibilities:
· Create a warm and welcoming environment for clients and staff alike
· Work collaboratively with your team to support client success
· Maintain accurate records of client interactions and service delivery
· Support clients to navigate government supports and online resources.
· Contact employers who are posting jobs on local job boards to promote our KES job board and services as needed/in collaboration with the employer liaison
Skills needed:
· Problem solving: Every client is different, and every day is different. Employment Resource Advisors must be able to think outside the box to find opportunities or community resources that match our client’s needs.
· Organization: organizing client files, employer queries, office supplies, emails, online and paper applications.
· Communication: Serving as the bridge between clients and KES staff, reaching out to clients, employers, colleagues, community partners (whether by phone, email, text, or carrier pigeon… ;) )
· Sales: Ability to promote services, listen to client needs and encourage clients to utilize our services.
· Independence: This position requires someone who likes to work independently and who is self-driven to look for opportunities to increase client engagement.
· Multi-tasking: Ability to juggle multiple tasks like a circus performer (metaphorically speaking, of course) answering phones, responding to emails, and handling administrative duties.
· Technological literacy: With your patient and friendly approach, you’ll help clients navigate online services including applying for our employment programs, drafting a resume, or printing/faxing documents.
Requirements:
· Experience providing friendly and helpful customer service to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Familiarity with local job market trends, community resources, and government programs as well as basic job search strategies.
· Respect for confidentiality and privacy
· Comfortable using computers including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
