Position Overview
CHEEC is seeking enthusiastic and nurturing Educator Assistants to join our team for the summer of 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with children and contributing to a positive, play-based learning environment.
Educator Assistants support the program team in delivering high-quality early learning experiences and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities
- Support educators in implementing engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with early childhood education practices
- Help create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children
- Assist with supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities
- Encourage curiosity, exploration, and social development through positive interactions
- Build respectful relationships with children, families, and team members
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and well-functioning classroom
- Support children with diverse needs in collaboration with the team
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Interest in or knowledge of early childhood education principles
- Experience working with children is an asset, but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Positive, patient, and flexible approach when working with children
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
