Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment, Truck, and Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with various types of heavy equipment, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment including heavy trucks, trailers, excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers and industrial equipment.
- Conduct mechanical repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Maintain and repair truck and trailer systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs or maintenance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Assist with assembly, installation, and calibration of new or replacement parts on various machinery.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment, automotive repair, or industrial machinery
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, electrical systems, schematics, and HVAC systems related to heavy machinery.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, or similar machinery is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong customer service skills for interactions with clients or internal teams when necessary.
