Under the general guidance and direction of the Supervisor of Technical, Stormwater and Rail Operations, the Senior Operations Technologist is responsible for providing program, project, and technical operations support for the Roads, Stormwater, and Rail Operations Branch. Specifically, this position develops, coordinates, organizes, and/or leads various operational, maintenance, and/or repair projects and/or programs, which involves developing contracts and administering contracted services for the City's road, stormwater, wastewater collection, and railway infrastructure, assets, programs and/or services. Additionally, this position assists the Supervisor of Technical, Stormwater, and Rail Operations by leading the coordination, development, and preparation of reports regarding various Branch data to comply with annual performance measures and reporting requirements. Furthermore, this position conducts research and/or site visits to monitor, inspect, and document operating performance; reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and prepares reports on gathered operating performance data; and develops operational or maintenance programs, standard operating procedures, and/or process improvements while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, standards, policies, procedures, and by-laws. Lastly, this position collects, reviews, and analyzes data, information, and/or documentation to provide technical advice, guidance, interpretations, explanations, and/or comments regarding impacts on the City's road, stormwater, wastewater collection, and railway infrastructure, assets, programs, and/or services. Overall, this position plays an integral role in preserving and enhancing the City of Barrie's road, stormwater, wastewater collection, and railway infrastructure, assets, programs, and services to ensure the City of Barrie maintains a safe, clean and suitable evironment for its residents and visitors.
