This full-time position involves working 37.5 hours per week as an Occupational Therapist (OT). You will be working with a Physiotherapist, Physiotherapy Assistant, and Health Promoter at our 5,600 sq. ft. gym facility which includes a hydrotherapy pool. You will also be working collaboratively with physicians and other FHT Allied Health Professionals within the BCFHT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ needs and create tailored therapy plans
- Delivering therapeutic interventions to improve functional abilities
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatments as needed
- Educate patients and their families about strategies to foster independence
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care
- Contribute to program planning and development of new patient programs
- Maintain standards of knowledge, skills, and participate in continuing education
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience working in a primary care setting is considered an asset
- Flexibility to respond to a fluctuating workload and changing environment
- Knowledge and sensitivity of the social determinants of health in our rural region
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health records
- Motivated professional who can work with minimal supervision
