Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Café Manager to oversee daily operations of our bustling café. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and safety, and ensuring the smooth functioning of all café activities. Previous restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel experience is highly valued, along with expertise in food industry standards and team management. The Café Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily café operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving to ensure quality standards are met.
- Supervise and train staff members on food handling, safety protocols, POS systems (including Micros POS), and customer service procedures.
- Manage team scheduling, interviewing potential hires, and providing ongoing coaching to foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food safety and sanitation.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and perform cash handling duties.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and coordinate with vendors for timely deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with hospitality standards.
- Address customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Implement restaurant management best practices to improve efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management; supervising experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling skills are essential.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with team management, training, and interviewing skills.
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is a plus; barista experience or restaurant experience is beneficial.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to guest interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
