Store Manager – Automotive Repair
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Store Manager to lead the daily operations of a busy automotive repair facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to build a strong team, deliver an excellent customer experience, and drive sales, productivity, and profitability.
The successful candidate will take ownership of store performance and create a fast-paced, accountable workplace where employees understand their responsibilities and customers feel confident their vehicles are being looked after properly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the store’s sales and customer service efforts
- Build strong customer relationships and clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance
- Manage customer concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly
- Schedule, coach, and lead service advisors, technicians, and support staff
- Coordinate daily shop workflow to maximize technician productivity and vehicle throughput
- Monitor work in progress and ensure repairs are completed accurately and on time
- Train employees on sales, customer service, operating procedures, and performance expectations
- Set clear goals and hold team members accountable for results
- Review estimates, repair orders, parts requirements, and job profitability
- Track key performance indicators, including sales, labour productivity, average repair order, gross profit, and customer retention
- Maintain high standards for store appearance, safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee development
- Ensure company policies and operating procedures are consistently followed
Qualifications
- Previous management experience in an automotive repair shop, dealership service department, tire store, or related automotive service business
- Strong understanding of automotive repair shop operations and workflow
- Proven ability to lead employees and improve team performance
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize work and make sound decisions in a busy environment
- Comfortable working with sales targets, budgets, and performance reports
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Professional, dependable, and accountable
- Valid driver’s licence
Automotive technical knowledge is strongly preferred. A technician’s licence is an asset but is not required.
