Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid provincial Class 2-S Driver’s License or Higher.
- Must have a 2-S Endorsement Instructor’s License.
- Must have a clean Drivers Abstract, clear Criminal Background check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Test.
- Previous training experience is an asset, but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct Driver Evaluation.
- Training the current/ new school bus drivers on our health and safety policies and procedures.
- Training Drivers from their current class license to obtain a Class 2 license with an S endorsement.
- Report to work on time and operate route in a safe manner.
- Conduct pre-trip & post-trip inspections daily, using Company tools and swipe technology.
- Practice defensive driving at all times, and proactively avoid accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.
- Evacuate bus in emergency situations and physically assist passengers to evacuate.
- Manage student behavior by exercising communication and discipline as per Company policies, and report student discipline issues to the school and to the Company immediately
- Report all accidents, incidents, and major or minor defects, to office immediately
- Complete all required paperwork, including route change sheets, timecards, vehicle repair requests, in a timely manner
- Deliver vehicle to office for repairs, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairs
- Follow all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as local Customer Service Center work directions and instructions
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Company
What you bring to the bus:
- Cheerful and positive demeanor, with a “can-do” approach.
- At least two years driving experience with a current driver’s abstract.
- Clear criminal background check.
- Your willingness to make a difference in a child’s day every day.
