Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Licensed Paralegal - Court Agent to join our legal team. Reporting to upper Management, the Paralegal will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service to active clients both in and out of court. They will manage client files and appointments with precision, ensure confidentiality of all corporate and client information, and correspond professionally with courts, agents, clients, and colleagues. The Paralegal will manage high case volume of files independently and as a team, guiding clients through to resolution.
Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service to active clients
- Accurately schedule client files and appointments
- Maintain confidentiality of all corporate and client information
- Correspond professionally with courts, agents, clients, and co-workers
- Review and draft legal documents
- Maintain general correspondence via telephone, email, and fax inquiries
- Request, receive, and review disclosures
- Conduct ongoing legal research
- Facilitate and attend Crown pre-trials, resolution meetings and virtual court appearances
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures
- Assist with clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and maintaining/organizing company records
- General duties as otherwise required by management
Qualifications
- P1 Paralegal License (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of previous paralegal in court experience (required)
- Must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Intermediate computer literacy using Microsoft and any internal company software
- Court experience (required)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict management skills
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the POA/HTA (required)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong time management skills
- Great attention to detail; inputting information and data entry
Pay: $57,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
