We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class 1 Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will contribute to our commitment to efficient logistics and exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues promptly.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery safely within the warehouse or yard environment as required for freight handling.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Certification or experience in forklift operation is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
