The Shipper/Receiver position is responsible for receiving daily deliveries. This position requires you to load and unload deliveries leaving and coming to the store. This includes heavy lifting and use of necessary equipment in a fast paced and busy work environment.
Specific Duties
- Accept shipments and sign invoices for delivery drivers
- Inspection of products and verification of shipments/invoices after scanning products into inventory system
- Report damages and discrepancies
- Operate necessary equipment in a safe manner
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area
- Proficiency in computers – word, excel and inventory management system
- Stocking products on shelves and assisting customers during slow receiving hours
- Other duties as assigned during slower receiving hours
Work Conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 50lbs
- Inside a busy and potentially noisy warehouse, going outside to meet with drivers
- Flexible availability required – evenings and weekends
- Repetitive actions – significant kneeling, bending over, crouching and lifting
Skills and Knowledge
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced busy environment
- Ability to work independently and as well as a team
- Self-motivated, with strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Experience not necessary, but preferred
