Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Second Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. The Second Cook will support the Head Chef in meal preparation and kitchen management, contributing to a seamless dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Support the primary cook in meal assembly, plating, and presentation
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and equipment
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Support food service operations by ensuring timely preparation and delivery of meals
- Collaborate with team members to uphold quality control and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Strong skills in meal preparation, serving, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
