Our organization is seeking a dynamic Investment Planning Advisor to provide high-quality financial planning services to the dental community in Ottawa, Ontario. This role focuses on strengthening client relationships, expanding market share and delivering expert financial guidance through personalized planning. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong investment background, exceptional communication skills and a commitment to client success. This position represents a current, existing vacancy within the organization.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for comprehensive benefits and performance-based bonuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a dedicated book of business, acquire new clients and increase market share by offering tailored financial planning solutions.
- Conduct regular account reviews, provide in-depth investment recommendations and create financial plans using advanced planning software.
- Maintain proactive contact through meetings, phone calls and correspondence to keep clients informed and aligned with their financial goals.
- Industry Representation: Attend conventions, stakeholder meetings and partner events to promote organization’s services within the dental community.
- Stay current on investment products, competitor offerings and industry regulations to provide informed recommendations and comparisons.
- Adhere to compliance standards, ensure proper documentation handling and maintain confidentiality of client records.
- Keep licenses in good standing by maintaining CE credits and staying up to date on financial planning best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required.
- Full LLQP license preferred (or must be obtained within two months of hire).
- Completion of the Canadian Investment Fund Course or Canadian Securities Course.
- Extensive knowledge of investment products and financial planning strategies.
- Familiarity with life insurance products, including Universal Life and Whole Life strategies.
- Strong experience with software applications including: Morningstar, NaviPlan and Salesforce (CRM helping businesses connect with customers and manage their
- relationships)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with internal staff.
Must be based in Ottawa, Ontario.
