Position Summary
We are seeking motivated and reliable team members to join our civil construction crew, supporting subdivision development, underground utility installation, and water system projects. This role is hands-on and dynamic, covering a combination of equipment operation, water system installation, and general labour duties. Ideal candidates are adaptable, safety-focused, and experienced in working around active utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment (excavators and small equipment) for trenching, grading, and backfilling (if qualified)
- Assist with and/or complete meter pit installations and full water system construction
- Install water services, valves, and underground piping (HDPE, PVC, etc.)
- Perform utility exposure and daylighting in coordination with hydrovac operations
- Read and follow site plans, locates, and grade requirements
- Support excavation and install crews with trench prep, pipe placement, and compaction
- Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with all regulations and company standards
- Perform general labour duties including material handling, site cleanup, and tool use
Qualifications (any combination of the following)
- Experience in civil construction, underground utilities, or subdivision work
- Excavator operating experience (asset but not required)
- Experience with water systems and meter pit installation (strong asset)
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment
- Valid driver’s licence (Class 1 or 3 is a strong asset)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
Certifications (preferred or willing to obtain)
- Ground Disturbance Level II
- Confined Space Entry / Awareness
- First Aid
- WHMIS / TDG
- Hydrovac or utility safety training
