We are seeking a passionate, reliable On-Call ECEA to support our dedicated team and ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality care during our summer term.
Employment Terms & Conditions
- Position Type: On-Call / Temporary Contract
- Contract Period: July 20, 2026 – August 17, 2026
- Shift Hours: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM (Monday to Friday, as needed)
- Possibility of contract extension upon mutual agreement.
- Wage: $19.00 – $20.00 / hour (Depending on experience)
Core Responsibilities
- Classroom Support: Assist in implementing age-appropriate activities aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework and our hybrid curriculum.
- Compassionate Care: Support daily routines during mid-morning and lunch periods (including meal times, transition periods, and personal care) while ensuring a secure, nurturing environment.
- Environment Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring classroom environment that invites safe exploration.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with full-time educators to maintain room ratios and support classroom management.
- Communication: Maintain professional and positive interactions with children, staff, and families.
Requirements
- Licensing: Valid BC ECEA License to Practice (Mandatory).
- Certifications: Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C (Child/Infant).
- Clearances: Clear Criminal Record Check (CRC), up-to-date Immunization record, and Health assessment.
- Skills: Strong English communication (verbal and written) and adaptability to dynamic classroom settings.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.
