Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on marine vessels and related equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized tools and techniques
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, pumps, and electrical systems
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform repairs and installations
- Document maintenance activities and repairs accurately in logs and reports
- Assist in the installation of new marine systems and upgrades
- Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems effectively
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair various marine systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and saws
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, often outdoors or on boats
- Prior experience working on marine vessels or related equipment is required.
