Contract Dates: 4-week assignment beginning ASAP with strong likelihood of extension.
System: Kroll
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 37.5 hours per week
Compensation: $35 per hour
Position Overview:
Move beyond retail pharmacy and advance your career by earning $35/hour in a dynamic specialty pharmacy setting, delivering essential pharmaceutical services to local hospitals. Our client, a premier specialty pharmacy in New Westminster, is looking for a Licensed Pharmacy Technician for a 4-week contract. In this role, you will handle and manage a unique range of pharmaceutical products rarely encountered in retail pharmacy, offering an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills within the industry.
During a typical shift, you will be responsible for processing around 300 prescriptions each day and must be able to lift 50 lbs for stocking tasks as needed. Key duties include managing incoming prescriptions, compounding medications that require special preparation, dispensing medications, and performing re-packaging and labeling tasks. You will also support the team with drug inventory management through effective stock control procedures, helping to maintain smooth pharmacy operations.
Extensive on-the-job training will be provided to prepare you for handling these specific medications and successfully completing your pharmacy duties, supporting your professional growth and confidence in the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure high-quality patient care
- Provide outstanding customer service by answering phone inquiries promptly and professionally
- Keep patient medical records accurate and current
- Assess and prioritize incoming requests efficiently
- Conduct routine checks for medication expiration dates
- Facilitate clinical investigations
- Review all drug labeling, packaging, and promotional materials
Required Qualifications:
- Must be actively licensed as an RPhT with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Proven experience and proficiency with the Kroll system
- Highly motivated, approachable, well-informed, and with strong communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Able to collaborate effectively within a team
- Flexible and available to work evening and weekend shifts when needed
