As an Associate Director, Data & AI, you'll be a senior, highly visible leader shaping and delivering our most ambitious AI transformations across Canada — combining deep architecture expertise with the ability to deliver complex, multi-agent AI solutions end-to-end.
What you'll do
As an Associate Director, you'll own and deliver complex Data & AI engagements — bringing together architecture leadership, technical depth, and delivery excellence. You'll partner with clients, sales, and Microsoft to design and scale solutions that move organizations from pilots to production.
Key responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of the sales cycle, including leading solution architecture for complex Data & AI engagements — including modern data platforms, advanced analytics, and machine learning
Architect Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions — including multi-agent systems, Copilot extensions, RAG architectures, and AI orchestration platforms
Deliver large-scale GenAI and Agentic AI programs end-to-end — from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, scaling, and value realization
Engage executive and C-suite stakeholders through workshops, value-based presentations, and architecture reviews
Embed Responsible AI principles — governance, security, evaluation, and risk management — across every engagement
Partner with Microsoft and ecosystem partners to co-innovate, co-deliver, and stay ahead of the AI frontier
What you'll bring
You're a senior, client-focused architect and delivery leader with deep expertise in Data and AI, including Generative and Agentic AI, with a track record of shaping and delivering complex transformations. You communicate clearly, problem-solve effectively, and thrive in a matrixed environment.
Experience
10+ years in solution architecture and delivery across AI, Data, and Analytics — with demonstrated depth in Generative AI and Agentic AI in enterprise contexts
Proven ability to architect and deliver GenAI/Agentic AI solutions at scale — from POC through production
Strong understanding of LLM architectures, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, vector databases, evaluation frameworks, and AI agent design patterns
Experience leading multi-million-dollar Data & AI transformation programs end-to-end
Strong commercial acumen, deal shaping, and business case development
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
Skills
Exceptional solution architecture and design capability across Microsoft’s modern data and AI stacks
Proven delivery leadership on complex, enterprise-scale Data & AI programs
Strong executive presence and ability to advise C-suite stakeholders on AI strategy and architecture
Ability to translate complex AI concepts into business value and outcomes

Strategic mindset with strong opportunity, solution, and delivery management

Compensation at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
