The Opportunity: Sault College is seeking a part-time Professor to teach Advanced Web Applications in the Computer Programming program.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field and/or 3–5 years of professional software development experience, including modern web application development
- Demonstrated experience developing and deploying full-stack web applications.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Next.js, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with server-side development using technologies such as Node.js, Java, PHP, or similar platforms.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services, including authentication mechanisms.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Understanding of web application security principles and secure coding practices.
- Experience using version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to learners with varying levels of experience.
This part-time teaching position is required for up to 5 hours per week to start in the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. Salary is $103.08/hr - $178.82/hr. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
