The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the building and grounds in good condition. The Maintenance Technician plays an essential role in the running of the hotel. Maintenance Technicians make sure that the electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and lawns at our hotel are in excellent working order so that our guests can enjoy their stay. Maintenance Technicians must act with honesty, and integrity and be professional at all times. Our Maintenance Technicians must do their best to make our guests stay amazing from when they arrive to when they depart.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Basic routine and preventative maintenance repair as problems arise including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, drywall repair, painting
- Perform regular preventative maintenance checks and repairs to ensure hotel television and internet services are functioning
- Servicing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units
- Groundskeeping including landscaping, lawn care, watering flowers
- Snow and ice removal
- Regular hot tub and pool upkeep and chemical testing, where applicable
- Maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the Maintenance department
- Maintaining inventory and informing Management of low out-of-stock products
- Reporting hazards and injuries immediately
- Following all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
- Other relevant and related duties as assigned
The “must haves”:
- A passion for the tourism industry
- 1 year of Maintenance Technician experience in a hotel or residential setting
- Basic construction skills in a variety of areas including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, kitchen & bathroom remodeling, and painting
- Basic hand and power tool skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Great organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to repeatedly lift, push, andpull up to 100lbs, as well as stand, bend, kneel, climb, and stretch for long periods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and speak with a variety of stakeholders
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
